This was excellent! Along the military analogy - hopefully you tell teams and ICs when they are in training, when it's a live fire exercise, and when it's for real... not always obvious.
I could relate this to: PMs "being agile" with requirements, and keeping "options" open until late. And the engineering team (like the policy person here) wanting to be helpful, but over time, getting into a paralysis or at best, half-hearted deliveries because they weren't sure whether what they build will be shipped or not. :)
